RZ & Company, A Salon-Spa (formally RZ & Company Hair Etcetera, Inc. & Jolie Salons) was founded by Ruth Zacharias in 1972 a modest six-chair salon. By 1974, business growth necessitated the salon's first of several expansions, doubling the size to 12 chairs. A name change to RZ & Company, Hair Etcetera was introduced in 1978.

In its original location at 519 S. Midvale Blvd., the business underwent an era of change. In 1979, a major, award-winning renovation was completed. By 1985, the business had again outgrown its space and was expanded to 2,300 square feet. A second salon redesign in 1991 and again in 2000 improved efficiency and provided a more guest-friendly atmosphere. In 2005, a move to 6602 Odana Road, Market Square doubled the space to 6,500 square feet adding a spa, 28 styling chairs and a pedicure - manicure spa.
